What happens after braces are removed?

Immediately after braces are removed, your teeth will have more mobility than they had before treatment. This condition will last up to 3 months, is individual to everyone, and is normal. Dental hygiene is performed and a plan for future care is made. The orthodontist will develop an individual retention system after treatment, depending on the complexity of the case and the characteristics of the body. Most commonly, adult patients are fitted with fixed wires that are invisible to others and require walking around for several years. Teenagers may be offered a removable plate or a night cap. In any case, it is not advisable to forget your doctor – follow-up visits are required every 6 months.
