My wisdom tooth is horizontal and has grown into my jaw

Question: My wisdom tooth is not correctly positioned at the bottom. I had a CT scan, the dentist said that it is very heavy, in the sense that it needs surgery. I went to the Institute of Dentistry for a consultation. The tooth is not only almost horizontal, but the roots have grown into the jaw. The doctor said that the operation under general anesthesia is 2-3 hours. I wonder if after the surgery there can be bad consequences. He doesn’t give any guarantees. My jaw could crack, or my lip could go numb, etc.

Answer: After an atypical tooth extraction there can be complications because it is a complex surgical procedure. Your doctor can tell you more after looking at your CT scan.
